Resident Files: Health Equity Rounds (S6:E27)

Implicit bias and systemic racism contribute to health disparities, and they can be accounted for by underlying social determinants of health, such as income, education and location. Everyone brings their own biases and lived experiences to the table, and  it is the responsibility of healthcare providers to recognize the role that bias plays in their interactions with patients and team members, as well as within the healthcare system.
