Children's Hospital Colorado Announces New Chief Operating Officer

Children’s Hospital Colorado is proud to announce that David Biggerstaff has been named chief operating officer. After an extensive national search, Biggerstaff was selected among an impressive pool of candidates and officially will begin his role at Children’s Colorado in April 2016.

Biggerstaff currently is president and chief operating officer at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where he has worked  for nine years in a number of leadership roles. Prior, Biggerstaff served within the organization as senior vice president for service lines and ambulatory operations, senior vice president for clinical and support operations, and vice president, where he delivered a strong record of accomplishments with a focus on culture and performance management systems, strategic planning, business development and improving ambulatory access. During his tenure as vice president, Biggerstaff also served as the administrator of Children’s at Legacy Hospital and Outpatient Specialty Care Center in Plano, Texas.

Biggerstaff has a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and completed an administrative residency at INTEGRIS Health in Oklahoma City, OK. He has a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Oklahoma State University.
