The Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology Program provides high-quality care to children and adolescents who have suffered concussions, traumatic brain injuries or other illnesses affecting brain function. Program providers work on the inpatient Neurotrauma and Pediatric Rehabilitation Unit, as well as in a variety of outpatient settings.
Our providers all have expertise in understanding and treating cognitive, behavioral, socioemotional and school challenges that accompany health conditions. The rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology team strives to work closely with patients, families, school personnel and healthcare providers to promote optimal outcomes for each individual child and adolescent.
Conditions we treat with rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology
Our rehab psychology and neuropsychology providers work with families facing a variety of rehabilitation-related health conditions, including but not limited to:
- Concussion/mild traumatic brain injury
- Moderate and severe traumatic brain injury
- Anoxic brain injury (oxygen deprivation to the brain)
- Encephalitis and meningitis (inflammation of the brain or its membranes)
- Spinal cord injury
- Cerebral palsy
- Spina bifida
- Hydrocephalus
- Prematurity and other complicated birth histories
- Planned surgeries, such as selective dorsal rhizotomy

- Comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation
- Focused neuropsychological evaluations in the Concussion Program
- Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Outpatient Rehabilitation Evaluations (MORE)

Our team consists of 10 pediatric psychologists and neuropsychologists, as well as multiple research assistants and trainees at all levels, from graduate school to postdoctoral fellowship.
