Children’s Colorado Among Best Children’s Hospitals in the Nation

Children’s Hospital Colorado (Children’s Colorado) ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report (U.S. News). Children’s Colorado is proud to continue serving as a pediatric leader right here in our own community, being ranked No. 1 in both the region and the state.

Top-ranked in four specialties

The nonprofit pediatric health system is proud to remain among the best children’s hospitals in the nation, with No. 1 rankings in both Colorado and the region. There’s no children's hospital better equipped to care for kids in a 1,000-mile radius. U.S. News ranked all 10 specialties at Children’s Colorado among the top 25. Out of the 10 recognized specialty areas, four of the Children’s Colorado specialties ranked among the top 10, including:

• Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, No. 3
• Diabetes & Endocrinology, No. 4
• Pulmonology and Lung Surgery, No. 6
• Cancer, No. 7 — the highest ranking for Cancer in its history

Ranked number one in the region

For the 2023-24 rankings and ratings, U.S. News ranked the top 50 centers in each of these 10 pediatric specialties: Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Lung Surgery, and Urology.

How the rankings work

U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research and consulting firm, collected and analyzed data from 119 children’s hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children’s hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care and expert opinion among pediatric specialists.
