Patient Advocacy

Kids don’t always have the words, the knowledge or the power to speak up for themselves, and nobody’s in a better position to speak up on their behalf than their parents. As a parent, you are your child’s biggest advocate. That’s why the experts at Children’s Hospital Colorado encourage parents to speak up.

Here at the hospital, we consider parents a part of our critical care team; parents know their children best, and we need them to tell us if something is wrong. But parents can advocate for their kids in all kinds of areas: in school, with other parents and even in government.

Advocacy isn’t always easy. Luckily, the experts at Children’s Colorado are here to help. Here, you’ll find tips on how to advocate for kids of all ages, even ones not yet born, everywhere from the doctor’s office to the state legislature.
