I meet patients (and their families) when they are at their most vulnerable--experiencing an acute illness or injury. My goal is to partner with them to address their immediate needs and comfort and to develop a plan for diagnosis and treatment of their condition for today and beyond. Calm communication and empathetic listening are the keys in the emergency setting.
